Makenna's Tonsil Surgery
Poor Makenna had to endure another surgery this year. Her tonsils had gotten so large that they were touching and causing her to have a variety of issues. After talking to the pediatrician and her ENT about them, we all agreed they must come out! So on Valentines Day (I know) we went in to have them taken out! She was so upset! While they had her under, they decided to take out her tubes. The doctor figured that they should have fallen out by now and was slightly concerned that they hadn't. All said and done, she had her tonsils and tubes removed. Overall she did pretty well. She had her stubborn moments, but with time she healed just fine. Hopefully that will be the end of surgeries for this little girl!

Valentines Day
My favorite part of Valentine's Day is the party my mom and dad have every year. All of my friends come over and we decorate cookies, do crafts, play and eat yummy treats. Here are some pictures from this year's party! I also had mom put a picture of my Valentine Card that I took to school. I love this day filled with love!!

Surgery
Here is Wyatt being taken into the Pediatric ER. The next two pictures are of him watching all the doctors and nurses preparing everything for his procedure. The last picture is him in recovery. He did well... nothing abnormal was found, which made our day. We now know that he has high allergy triggers and we have to constantly monitor him. During the winter and spring months his on maintenance breathing treatments to help prevent any worse outbreaks. Our fingers are crossed!
The Hospital... for our little man
Wyatt has really struggled with breathing this winter. He has an awful wheeze that we just can't seem to get rid of. We have been assigned a lung specialist to go with our allergist/immunologist. Together we are working hard to keep his lungs clear and healthy. This January we didn't win! We went into the Dr. for a deep wheeze. They gave him breathing treatments on oxygen, but were still unable to bring his SATs up above 87. Our pediatrician directed me straight to the hospital. We were admitted and stayed three days. He had breathing treatments that lasted up to 6 hours long. While we were there they also did a surgical procedure called a bronchoscopy. We were doing everything we could to answer questions and eliminate diagnosis.

Writing
The other night I was working on picking up the house when I realized that it had gotten really quiet. I went out into the family room to find Makenna with a pen writing on her hand! My gut instinct was to get angry, but I stopped myself. I asked her to see what she was writing on her hand. When she turned it around, I smiled. She had wrote "Dad" (backwards). She had many stories on why she did it, but I just thought it was so cute. What a smart little girl!
